As a registered Marriage Celebrant, Elizabeth has performed many diverse ceremonies which have been tailored to meet the needs of the bride and groom.
Themed weddings can be conducted anywhere with the entire wedding party joining in and having fun dressing up in costume, especially for famous or medieval characters where a good time can be guaranteed for all.
A Wiccan or Pagan wedding ceremony is usually conducted outdoors, so it is a meeting and blending with nature, family and friends where the couple are joined together in the presence of the four elements: fire, water, earth and air.
Hand fasting and rituals are conducted by a High Priestess or a High Priest and are used to unify participants and to join two souls in marriage. It involves all persons present, where all participants gather in a cast sacred circle that includes the bride and groom, and creates a sacred space.
"Today, we invoke the element — Air — with clever fingers, and ties closely the bonds between these two. We now invoke the element — Fire — give them love and passion and an all-consuming ardour. We invoke the element — Water — give them the depth of love the joys of enjoying life and yet experiencing tranquillity. Lastly, we invoke the element — Earth — let strength and constancy be theirs, as they desire to remain together for the rest of their lives."
Cord colours are most important such as red or the seven colours of the rainbow, as each colour signifies areas such as love, passion, money or health.
Other Wicca Rituals include:
• The Goddess and the God - the invocation of the divine forces that may be identified with natural forces, such as the sun and the moon or other chosen divine forces.
• Wine Blessing - A chalice of wine or chosen beverage is blessed to symbolise the creative union of male and female, Goddess and God, heaven and earth, life and death.
• Jumping The Broom Stick - bride and groom usually leave the circle by jumping over a broom stick symbolising crossing over the threshold into married life and fertility magic.
"Love one another, but make not a bond of love. Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from the same cup. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping, for only the hand of life can contain your hearts. And stand together yet not too near together: for the pillars of the temple stand apart, and the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow."
... and the multicultural society Australia has become as I have performed many diverse ceremonies.
Elizabeth can provide you with a confirmation letter to submit to the Department of Immigration as verification that you have hired a celebrant in support of your pending marriage and prospective spouse application. Elizabeth will also complete the Notice of Intended Marriage which can be signed upon arrival of your fiancée in Australia, or in front of an appropriate authority overseas and then mailed back to lock-in your wedding day. ALL DOCUMENTS PREPARED & QUICKLY LODGED WITH BDM REGISTRY.
This must be completed no less than a month or more than 18 months before your wedding and lodged with your celebrant. I must sight original photo ID of birth certificate or passport, along with any dissolution of marriage or death certificate of previous spouse.
